Gabriele Galuppo of Theo Randall at the InterContinental enjoyed this wine’s ‘yellow apple and citrus aromas with a fragrant edge, clean acidity, elegant bubbles and creamy, toasty flavours’, while Lime Wood Hotel’s Christopher Parker highlighted ‘elderberries, ripe Granny Smith apples, subtle buttery pastry notes and hints of gooseberry jam’. Special Vineyards of Hampshire Cellar Door Experience Dates: As part of a ‘wine trail’ of Hampshire Vineyards our cellar door will be open for tastings along with Cottonworth, Danebury, Exton Park, Hattingley Valley, Hambledon and Jenkyn Place on the following days.

“Floral, red apples and a hint of almond” The latest release from RAIMES is a Blanc de Noirs, a white fizz made from the red grapes Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. It is made from our grapes harvested by hand in October 2014 and bottle fermented in the traditional method, spending 24 months on the lees which lends the wine more depth and complexity. Floral, red apples and a hint of almond on the nose, fine bubbles, more red apples on the palate and a little redcurrant leading to a zingy finish of citrus that carries to a good length; this elegant 2014 Blanc de Noirs has already won a bronze medal in the UKVA Wine of the Year Awards by a judging panel headed by Oz Clark and Susie Barrie. Double Bronze Medal success at International Competitions. DWWA The Decanter World Wine Awards and IWSC The International Wine and Spirit Competition have each awarded our 2013 Blanc de Noirs international bronze medals. We are delighted with our award winning wine. Shame there is so little left! Can’t wait for our 2014 BdN to be ready in June 2017. (May 2017)
A Second Silver Medal! This time awarded by the all new IEWA Independent English Wine Awards celebrating the best of English wine. Our 2013 Blanc de Noirs was judged to be an excellently crafted, standout wine. (March 2017)
On the Menu We are delighted that RAIMES 2013 Blanc de Noirs is now a permanent listing on the menu at Fat Olives, a charming Michelin Guide 2017 restaurant in a 17thC fisherman’s cottage, on South Street in Emsworth. Serving exceptional modern British food and championing fresh local produce. (February 2017)
RAIMES English Sparkling joins Vineyards of Hampshire becoming the eighth vineyard in this friendly collective alongside Cottonworth, Danebury, Exton Park, Hambledon, Hattingley Valley, Jenkyn Place and Meonhill. Together the group promotes Hampshire’s superb quality sparkling wines and prized terroir to both the wine trade and retail customers, locally and nationally.
RAIMES English Sparkling 2013 Blanc de Noirs wins Silver award in the WVA Wine of the Year Competition. We are delighted with our silver medal. First competition, very happy. Judges tasting notes: “Lemon sherbet with elegant bready overtones. Youthful. Rich brioche, chalky mineral flavours balanced with citrus.” (December 2016)

It was our absolute pleasure to share bottle no. 2 at home with Peter Richards MW and Susie Barrie MW from BBC’s Saturday Kitchen. “Fine bubbles; really nice texture and very elegant and stylish.
